TIZI WEZZU – The impressive number of police officers deployed yesterday to prevent the weekly rally of students from Mouloud Maameri University in Tizi-Wezzu demonstrates Kabylia is under effective colonial rule.
Thus, taking advantage of the weak presence of the students, the colonial police proceeded to seal off the accesses allowing the students to walk towards the city. Dissuaded by the muscular security cordon that is formed around them, dozens of students had to turn back and disperse some time after organizing a sit-in, about ten meters from the main entrance to Hasnaoua University. .
Last Saturday, another impressive police number of the same scale was also deployed to prevent the peaceful rally to support the president of the JS Kabylie Cherif Mellal by the supporters of the club. Thus, several violent arrests were recorded among the supporters who wanted to march towards the headquarters of the prefecture of Tizi-Wezzu.
These demonstrations of power, which occur ahead of the announcement of legislative elections on June 12th, which the system wants to force through Kabylia, demonstrate that Kabylia is under real Arab-Islamist colonial domination.
” Dealing with a such colonial state, it is urgent that the vigorous pro-independence forces of Kabylia wake up and unite to begin a peaceful
process of  decolonization before it is too late”, says Farid, a student at Tizi-Wezzu University.
